Product Overview

(N)SHTOEU is a high-performance low voltage reeling cable engineered for use under high and very high mechanical stress conditions. Designed to deliver reliable power, control, and data transmission, it is suitable for both indoor and outdoor deployment, and widely applied in reeling, festoon, and gantry systems where repeated movement, bending, and torsional loads are present. It conforms to standard DIN VDE 0250-814, with relevant certifications including VDE (Reg. Nr. 7519) and GOST-R.


Construction & Material Design

Every layer of the cable is optimized for flexibility, durability, and electrical performance, with a clear structural composition as follows:

  1. Conductor

    Material: Electrolytic tinned copper, very finely stranded (Class FS). This design ensures excellent conductivity, corrosion resistance, and maximum flexibility under repeated motion.

  2. Insulation

    Material: PROTOLON MS — a special compound based on high-quality ethylene propylene rubber (EPR, grade min. 3GI3). It provides enhanced mechanical strength, electrical insulation properties, and resistance to thermal aging.

    • Core Identification: Power and control cores feature light-colored insulation with black printed numbers for easy recognition; the protective earth conductor is marked with green-yellow color coding.

    • Shielding: Cores are protected by a braid screen made of tinned copper wires, with optimized transfer impedance at 30 MHz for superior electromagnetic compatibility (EMC). Shield coverage: ≥ 60% for shielded cores; ≥ 80% for twisted/shielded pairs.

    • Core Arrangement: Laid up in a maximum of 3 layers to maintain flexibility and structural stability.

  3. Sheath System — PROTOFIRM Special

    A multi-layer structure combining strength and elasticity:

    • Inner Sheath: High-grade special compound based on polychloroprene rubber (PCP), yellow in color.

    • Reinforcement Layer: Polyester thread braid, vulcanized and bonded between inner and outer sheaths, significantly boosting tensile strength and tear resistance.

    • Anti-Torsion Braid: Integrated to resist twisting forces during reeling and unreeling operations.

    • Outer Sheath: Abrasion and tear-resistant special rubber compound based on PCP, yellow in color. This layer delivers outstanding protection against mechanical damage, weathering, and chemical exposure.

  4. Cable Marking

    Standard format: (N)SHTOEU -J/-O (Number of Cores) × (Cross-Section) + VDE Reg.-Nr.

    • -J: Includes protective earth conductor

    • -O: Without protective earth conductor
